The Council for Exceptional Children is a special education organization that works with children that have special needs. We do various service projects for the community that targets individuals with special needs and their families. We meet once a month to work on these community projects as well as learn from speakers and each other about ways to support individuals with special needs. Our group brings together members of all majors who advocate and support people with all different abilities.

The USD Literacy Association is a professional organization for educators who are genuinely concerned with the improvement of reading programs and teaching procedures, both developmental and remedial, for children and adults. Associated with the International Literacy Association (ILA), the USD Literacy Association supports the goals of ILA.

The purpose of the University of South Dakota Young Professionals of Exercise and Sport (YPES) club shall be to provide students with insight and information in order to explore the professional fields of exercise and sport, along with the business aspects associated with each. The YPES will also accommodate and arrange ample amounts of opportunity for outreach to the USD and Vermillion communities along with surrounding health and sport organizations in order to prepare students who are interested in exercise and sport careers for the exciting job market and future of the field.
