The purpose of this organization is to promote the awareness of the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) by educating students about blood cancers and other life-threatening diseases, planning event donor registration drives, supporting community outreach initiatives, and collaborating with local and campus partners. The main goal of this organization is to increase student involvement on and off campus by the life-saving stem cell donation efforts, and to foster a culture of service and advocacy, and show how we can make a lifesaving impact here at the University of South Dakota and beyond.

The purpose of the Best Buddies program is to promote inclusivity and meaningful friendships among USD students and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who are supported by SESDAC. Students are paired with an individual with IDD who has similar interests. The pairs commit to Best Buddies for one school year. Pairs interact at least 1x/week via phone, online, or in person. Pairs co-plan for and participate in group activities one time per month. The Best Buddies program encourages pairs to include friends and family in activities.

These consistent interactions and person-centered activities foster the development of meaningful, long-term friendships between students and individuals with IDD. For more details, see https://www.bestbuddies.org/what-we-do/friendship/.

The organization promotes the study and practice of accounting, finance and information services, provides opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals, and encourages a sense of ethical, social and public responsibility. What: Nope, we’re not Greek Life. Chi Alpha is a campus ministry that exists to help students grow in the Great Commission call to go and make disciples of all nations.

Who: In the Bible, the apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:20, "We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God."
Our movement of campus ministries finds its identity in this passage. We believe that God longs to have each and every person be reconciled to Himself, and that the way that re-connection happens is through his people. Each of us who takes on the identity of “Christian” becomes Christ’s ambassador – or christou apostoloi in Greek, which we shorten to the first letters “Chi” and “Alpha” or XA. Our name is our constant reminder that each of us has a real part to play in this world. We each can carry Him within us to bring Him closer to the people around us.

How: When you connect with Chi Alpha, you will find a community of worship, discipleship, prayer, fellowship and mission. These elements are built in the context of relationship: individual friendships, small group communities and the larger community as a whole. In Chi Alpha you’ll be challenged to grow as a follower of Christ, and you just might be surprised at how much fun you can have doing it! The Council for Exceptional Children is a special education organization that works with children that have special needs. We do various service projects for the community that targets individuals with special needs and their families. We meet once a month to work on these community projects as well as learn from speakers and each other about ways to support individuals with special needs.
